The sensors are completely optional, and the Spruce Controller can operate without sensors – but we really recommend that you have at least a few to unlock the full potential of the system. If you don’t have a sensor assigned to a particular zone, the watering schedule for that zone will be determined by weather prediction and landscape type alone.
